The backpack is particularly handy, thanks to its adjustable straps and roomy design. It can easily fit a tablet, small laptop, or notebook, making it a great choice for students or professionals on the go. Meanwhile, the Buckthorn Tote is ideal for anyone looking to tackle projects on the fly.
Recommended Fabrics
Canvas or waxed canvas (7-10 oz.) for the exterior fabric, and quilting cotton for the lining.
if you are using waxed canvas (7-10 oz.) for the exterior, OMIT fusible fleece/foam and do not interface the exterior fabric pieces. The heavier the waxed canvas, the more difficult it makes this particular project to sew.
if you are using canvas (8-10 oz.) for the lining, reduce fusible woven interfacing requirement to ½ yard/.45 m total for backpack (Strap Reinforcement Strip & Front Pocket pieces), OMIT for tote.
